Adidas Partner with Samsung to create a Mobile Phone that can coach you.

MiCoach

South Korean electronics firm and the German athletics company announced that the have developed a mobile phone that interacts with the Adidas shoe and apparel. This tracks, plans,  and motivates the user during training. The phone has an electronic  voice that acts as a “personal coach”. Also the phone has a heart rate monitor, MP3 player and a stride sensor. The MiCoach phone will be  for sale in the US in 2009. It will cost about $300.00 to $600.00 depending on what service the user selects.

This isn’t the only so called personal coach device out there. Nike and Apple Inc have also put out a personal coach device that the Ipod Nano communicates with via a sensor embedded in the users Nike shoe.this is called the Nike+.

MiCoach is a little more expansive with its phone based device that offers a phone, camera, and helps to set goals. By doing so the phone tells the user when to speed up or slow down to meet their goal in distance, calorie burn, and fitness.

Like Nike+, Adida will offer equipment and clothing that will comfortably attach MiCoach, the heart rate monitor, and the sensor that can be attached to any shoe.
